The Jumbles Nursery occupies the ground floor of a detached building comprising of Baby Room, Toddler Room and Pre-School Room. We also enjoy the benefits of our spacious Out Door Play area.
We have a separate baby room for our under two’s with a wide range of toys and equipment for them to explore and learn. The room enjoys a quiet and calm atmosphere away from the more lively activities of the Toddler and Pre-School rooms. It has its own changing facilities.
Our keyworkers plan for the children’s natural next steps and introduce the children to new activities and experiences as and when they are ready. Some team members are qualified in Baby Massage too..
Our Toddler room is a bright and lively room for children aged between 18mths and 3 years. Our children’s key workers plan activities around the children’s next steps and current interests alongside a wide range of activities such as painting, messy play, story time & singing and imaginary play. Being a social and confident individual is also a very important skill and the children are encouraged to tidy their toys away, share with their friends, and have a go at something new.
This is a beautiful bright and sunny room with something for our 3 & 4 year olds to explore in every corner. The children can express themselves creatively with artwork and modelling in the workshop. The cosy book corner offers a space for those who would like some quiet time, or they can loose themselves in the imaginary world of role play. Our ethos is learning through play and the room offers the space and resources to allow all areas of learning to be available all of the time.
Our ethos at Jumbles is learning through play and from the moment your child starts nursery we begin to observe and record their natural development and achievements through our online portal ‘IConnect’. Parents are welcome to take photos and videos at home to add to their child’s Learning Journey, we promote parent partnership throughout the nursery.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
The ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ (EYFS) statutory framework sets the standards for both the Safeguarding & Welfare requirements and Learning & Development Requirements for the setting. We use this to plan and provide a stimulating environment for all of our children to learn and explore new experiences.
Following it’s revision in September 2012 the EYFS now has seven areas of Learning and Development comprising of three prime areas and four specific areas which are:-
The three prime areas together promote children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for leaning, build their capacity to learn and form relationships and thrive. These areas are:-
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Communication & Language
These are then strengthened further through the four specific areas which are
- Understanding the world and
- Expressive arts
Out Door Play Area
We have a safe and secure outdoor play area for the children to enjoy and explore whilst getting plenty of fresh air and exercise. We also enjoy taking small groups of children on short walks to the local play areas and parks.
The children enjoy swimming lessons when they turn 2 and half, these lessons are an additional extra cost and optional.
All staff are qualified in baby massage.
Each year we hold several family events for us all to enjoy including; The big toddle waddle, Our summer fair, Christmas concert and Pre school leavers graduation ceremony.
